Currently developing over 1,590MW of Wind Projects on approximately 150,000 acres of private land in Alberta and Ontario. Focused on the development of quality Wind Projects in areas with available transmission capacity.

  • 900MW cap on Wind Power was removed on September 26, 2007
  • Deregulated power generation market
  • Excellent wind resources and land availability
  • Merchant power market, participation in competitive RFP process is not required
  • Well suited for the development of large projects (100 MW or greater)
  • Projects under development are located in areas of the province that have very good to excellent wind resources and are in close proximity to transmission lines with available capacity
  • Projects are geographically diverse minimizing the potential adverse effects of wind power production variability on the transmission system
  • Have engaged top consultants to assist with Land Acquisition, Wind Resource Assessment, Environmental Assessment, Public Consultation, Electrical Engineering, Legal, Accounting and Regulatory matters

  • Standard Offer Program for distribution connected renewable energy projects under 10MW
  • Twenty year Power Purchase Agreement offered by the Ontario government for $0.11 per KWh adjusted for inflation
  • Open offer, participation in competitive RFP process is not required
  • Good wind resources, but land availability is an issue due to relatively high population density
  • Extremely competitive wind development market
  • To qualify for the Standard Offer Program, projects are limited to a maximum size of 10MW
  • Projects under development are in areas of the province with good wind resources and available transmission/distribution system capacity
  • Minimizing the possibility of local opposition to Wind Projects through appropriate site selection, and proactive community and municipal engagement
  • Have engaged top consultants to assist with Land Acquisition, Wind Resource Assessment, Environmental Assessment, Public Consultation, Electrical Engineering, Legal, Accounting and Regulatory matters
